Playing Time Table

The following table summarizes the time of periods and penalties for the various age classifications in our area. The period and overtime entries indicate the maximum time, while the penalty time entries indicate the minimum time for each penalty type. (The maximum time for each penalty type is the time outlined in the USA Hockey Rulebook.) Overtime periods shall not be allowed except in tournaments where the advancement of a team depends on the determination of a winner, such as a semi-final or championship game.

Note that when numbers are used in the Level, the number is an age bracket when used with "-or-under" (such as "14-or-under"), and the number is a playing time category when used with "-min", such as "Men's 18-min".

Extended Game Policy

All CDIHOA officials are entitled to receive payment for time worked beyond the standard times listed in the previous section for a given age classification. This includes both extensions to ``regular'' periods, as well as the addition of ``extra'' periods, but does not include overtime periods, which, if allowed, are considered to be part of the standard time of a game. The policy is as follows:
For each scoreclock minute played beyond the standard time in a given age classification, each official shall be paid an additional one dollar ($1.00).
